Ground Floor

1.In this ground floor room, over 8000 petitions are sent in each year in the hopes that their cases are granted by the members of the Supreme Court.

2.Located on the ground floor of the Supreme Court, we visit this room on a day when the Supreme Court releases opinions.


1st Floor

1.The Great Hall is the ceremonial space leading up to the entrance of the Supreme Court Chamber.

2.The Supreme Court contains four interior courtyards that surround the area near the Supreme Court Chamber.

2nd Floor

1.Located on the second floor, the John Marshall Dining Room was given this name by former Chief Justice Warren Burger.

2.On days of Oral Argument, Justices gather in this private second floor room to have an informal, yet traditional lunch together after their courtroom experience.

3rd Floor

1.Located on the third floor of the Supreme Court building, this private room is for the use of the Supreme Court as well members of the Supreme Court bar.

2.It contains all the volumes of State and Federal law as well as many other legal books and documents.
