Religion:
210 U.S. 296 (1908) (The fact that the municipality may have furnished some of the funds for building or repairing the churches cannot affect the title of the Roman Catholic Church, to whom such funds were thus irrevocably donated, and by whom these temples were erected and dedicated to religious uses).
Minority:
It showed the two minority groups most impacted by affirmative action the writing on the wall and prodded them to end their crippling dependence on a program that, while intended to help them when it was designed a half-century ago, now arguably does them harm.
School System:
Mathew Fraser, a senior at Bethel High School in Bethel, Washington, spoke to a
school assembly to nominate a classmate for an office in student government. His
speech was filled with sexual references and innuendos, but it contained no
obscenities. The good news is that Fraser's candidate was overwhelmingly
elected. The bad news was that Fraser was suspended from the school for three
days and removed from the list of students who were eligible to make graduation
remarks. (Fraser was second in his class at that time.)
